Under the sky of Tohoku...
I woke up this morning // 今朝、目を覚ましては
and wondered if everything that happened yesterday was a dream. // 昨日の出来事は全て夢だったのではないか, そう思いました。
Now that I think about it, // そんな風に思うことは、
it may be the first time I've ever felt that way. // 思えば初めてだったのかもしれません。
Hello everyone.
It's Kubo Shiori.
On August 29th.
I had the first pitch at Rakuten Seimei Park Miyagi.
I know I've had a lot of experiences in the past of not remembering things because I was too nervous, but I'm surprised that I can't remember even now.
I'll take that as a good sign, of course.
The fact that I was standing in the middle of the home field of the Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles, from whom I have received so much power and courage since I was a child, was too much for me to accept and it overwhelmed my heart.
It was such a happy and gratifying experience.
I wrote down as much as I could in my notebook that day about how I felt.
I'm sure I wrote harder than I did when I was studying for my exams in the 3rd grade of middle school.
Unstoppable thoughts and feelings of gratitude...
The moment when a dream comes true is really unforgettable.
I would like to express my sincere gratitude to everyone who made this first pitch ceremony possible, including everyone involved with the baseball team.
Thank you so much.
Since the beginning, for six years,
I was allowed to join performances like these at that time on the stadium of the Tohoku Golden Angels,
there, the teachers instructed me: "Don't step on the ground!"
and because of that, this time the feeling of "Is it ok to stand here...?" was more strong than ever.
Perhaps that's part of it, but I've never experienced such a nervous breakdown before.
In the previous practice, it seemed like he could reach it, but as expected, he couldn't.
It's frustrating.
In the Washi home-room I said I would score about 20 points, but now I think it was actually even lower. (something like the fans showroom maybe)
It was very pompous of me.
If I get another opportunity like this someday, I'd like to start training now so that I can throw better pitches then.
Thank you so much for a wonderful experience!
And right after the first pitch, Switch-san danced Route 246 in front of me☺︎ (the mascot?)
It was perfect! Amazing!
I'd love to dance with you next time☺︎
Yeah, and you know...
Actually, two days before the show, Mukai Hazuki came to practice with me.
In the mid-summer heat and surrounded with the sound of the cicadas... the two of us played catch with each other.
We were both soaked in sweat.
Later at the field, everyone was surprised☺︎
I'll keep practicing so that next time you throw the first pitch, I can be your practice partner.
Thank you so much.
And on the day, as well as Hazuki, many of my beloved people contacted me.
On the day of the event, first thing in the morning, she said to me "Have fun".
Hinako-san.
Who watched me in real time.
Miria-san.
Who remembered the date of the event exactly.
Minamin.
And,
from my same hometown, someone who has also been supporting me from Seventeen magazine, from the group Angerme, Sasaki Rikako-chan, also was there supporting me. I was so happy.
I hope we can go to a game together again.
Let's keep in touch with each other with the latest from the Rakuten Eagles.
Moreover, my best friend from my hometown also came to the stadium.
It was really nice to see again☺︎
I already received the letter from the local junior(s).
With a nice photo attached.
Thank you☺︎
I've had the pleasure of being pushed by so many people and having such a wonderful experience.
And once again, I'm grateful for the support of so many people☺︎
I'll have to take another big step here.
I received your courage, and also your love.
I will try my best to show you how much I have grown as a person!
Thank you very much for coming to the stadium.
And also for the warm applauses.
It was an unforgettable time.
It was the best time I've ever had, and I'd like to thank you all!
Also, I'd like to thank everyone who joined us at the Washi home-room to support the team!
It was a great time for me to talk with Mr. Yanagi, the MC, while cheering for the Rakuten Eagles.
Thank you, Yanagi-san!
And it was at this place that one more dream came true.
When I was in school, we were in the same class
and we were teammates,
NANA-chan. MOEKO-chan.
(she wrote teammates no classmates, and the names capitalized & in romaji)
When I was in school,
they taught me,
YUKI-sensei. AKINA-sensei.
I am so happy to see all the people that I met before I moved to Tokyo again.
I'm so happy...
And I was able to perform the team song in the Washiho Room with NANA-chan and YUKI-sensei. (wut? I need that proof asap)
It was like a fantasy.
Before the show, they came to join us for the dance, and I think they had been dancing for six years, because they remembered all the dances and choruses very well.
That's a relief.
Actually, I also danced in the performance of the end of the 5th inning when I was still a student.
It was instilled in my body that I can no longer pass the towel around in the stadium as an anti-infection measure, but I still vividly remember the sight of customers smiling and laughing as they passed the towel around during my junior year☺︎
I also missed the weight on my hands of the pom-poms....
I also received a video message from my teachers at school.
The warm message I received before the first pitch was really nice.
And to see some of my teammates who were in the same class at that time and are still with me today... happiness.
When Shiraishi-san threw her first pitch, I was still a school student.
Back then my teacher said, "The next time Nogizaka46 will come here!" and told me that loved Nogizaka46.
I had a lesson that day, so I couldn't go to the stadium, but my teacher told me later that they were all really beautiful, I still remember that.
I was really, really happy that everyone I met that day remembered me.
I will always keep you in my mind.
So I am looking forward to meeting you again somewhere in my lifetime!
I wanted to capture all the things in this blog and make it short, but I can't see the end of it because I have one thing after another in my head that I want to tell you!
Crutch drew a portrait of me.
(the 2 mascots of the Eagles)
Very good! I'm glad...I will take good care of it.
And Crutchina has brought me a wonderful gift.
She has a [46] on her cheek, it was lovely☺︎
Thank you.
The memories and gifts you gave me are too much to be carried solely by my hands, but you gave me a lifetime treasure.
Thank you so much.
Some of them were gifts for my parents.
My father played baseball. My mother played softball.
I was born into a Kubo family that loved baseball so I was brought to the stadiums since I was in kindergarten.
I started learning about the Tohoku Golden Angels because my mother told me to.
Everything, all of it, is so connected.
Since the year the club was founded, my family has brought more and more memories and merchandise into our home each year.
In fact, I had never invited my father to any live shows or events yet.
So it was at the first pitch yesterday that he saw me at work for the first time.
I hope you were pleased with it.
I wish I could have been a little more devoted to my parents.
Everyone in my family was very happy to see me.
I am glad that I was born in Miyagi and the Kubo family.
Thank you so much.
(this girl really knows how to say thanks, here we go again)
I realized the charm of my hometown more since I left Miyagi prefecture. It's wonderful.
Of course, it is still my favorite hometown.
Even if I'm reincarnated, I definitely want to be born in Miyagi Prefecture.
This was a day that I can't stop thanking everyone I met in this place I love, and everyone I met away from here.
And in the center of it all, of course, there are all of you.
You have made my dreams come true as if they were your own.
I've gotten so many "congratulations" from you. I am truly a happy person.
Thank you so much for everything.
Please let's keep up with the good work.
The games of this season are still going on.
I hope I can continue to fulfill my role as the Eagles girl image character in the future.
Even though I couldn't lead you to victory yesterday, I will continue to support you for a long time to come.
I love you all!
I hope that all the players will be healthy and safe to play.
Thank you very, very much for your support.
Thank you very, very much for your support.
There are many more paths ahead of me.
A new dream is born.
Still, I think my dream of working with my hometown is forever.
I was very happy yesterday when one of those dreams came true.
The Rakuten Eagles will always bring power to Tohoku.
I don't have that kind of power yet, but I'd like to move forward to be a little bit like you.
I'll write again.
Kubo Shiori
Even if I don't remember the view,
その時の光景を覚えていなくても、
if I remember the sound of my heart, the beatings, and those poundings of my chest,
心の音、鼓動、胸の高鳴りを覚えていたら
the moment will stay with me forever.
いつまでも、私の心に残り続ける。
I am afraid of forgetting those memories that I catch with my eyes, but...
目で覚えた記憶は、忘れてしまうのが怖くなるけれど、
I feel like those that I remember with my heart, but not with my head,
頭でもない、心で覚えた記憶は、
will never be forgotten, and they will always keep my heart warm.
忘れてしまう日が来ない気がして、私の心をずっと温めてくれている気がして。
That's why I think it's time to move on.
だから、次に進めるんだと思います。
To the next step, forward.
次なるステップへ向けて、前へ。
